looking for a scouting report for Hannibal bank

I have a trip planned the last week of the month to fish with the Coral Star. Of course I am getting excited. Looking for some recent reports from the area. Simply to add to the anticipation for the trip!!!! This is there first trip of the year probably a little early in the season? What should we expect as far as fishing and weather?

fishing around the islands has been great. outside, there have been some marlin around. we hooked one but lost it yesterday in montosa. chicho lost a huge tuna in jicaron this week too. and caught a bunch of smaller tuna in montosa up to 70#.
weather has been very good the last few days but you should be ready for rain still.
you will have a great trip im sure

In most off-shore fishing destinations the fishing is best on a New moon is this true in Pannama.

You'll get a million opinions regarding moon phase. Personally I prefer the week before the full for the Gulf of Chirique, Panama. My fishing logs show consistent big fish catches at that time and the north winds are usually strong the week after the full during the dry season.

I was fishing out there last month and the conditions were perfect for marlin on the bank but the dolphin would not let go of our baits! If the bite is off on the bank there are so many places and options you have to fish out there. I am sure your trip will be very successful. The time of year is great for teh winds have not picked up yet and the wahoo are still running strong.

I just left Pinas yesterday after 3 days of fishing as it was a little slow and windy/choppy....many dorados, few tuna and smaller marlin....headed north to fish Hannibal and the other areas mentioned in 2 to 3 weeks

First its amazing when the catch includes Dorado tuna and marlin and it is considered slow. I found it interesting the dolphins kept meesing with the baits. I assume those smart guys have figured out hoe to strip the baits off the hooks. They when circle hooks are being used and in lees danger of being snagged! Steve I you the best of luck to the North . post report when yoyu finish > iwill do the same I am fishing during the week after christmas
