Beautiful Costa Rica

Just got back from our new location in Puerto Jimenez, CR. What a blast....didn't fish to much because the wife was along. But, we still got her in to a couple fish. First day was offshore saw a marlin and 4 sails but not takers. Move in a little and got into some tuna from under one of the porpoise schools. Inshore, we did a half day before heading in the rainforest to see monkeys, parrots and even a Jaguar! Inshore we got her this nice rooster and a handful more. The rest of the week was ahving fun, doing the great zipline in the Osa Pen., hanging out at the beach and enjoying fantastic food! Pura Vida!

I love that area except for all the bugs...

Can't really say I have had any problems with them. The only thing if you near a river dump mouth or fresh water at sunset the black flies (purrujas) will carry you away!!! But, that is true for all Central Amer.

cool pic of the greenwinged macaw. I am attempting to train a "large" neglected adult one right now.

Thanks, Beautiful birds. It seems like on the Osa they've done a good job of restoring some of the stocks. They seem to be everywhere there but I know they are almost gone from pretty much everywhere else.

Yeah, unfortunaltely the illegal smuggling of them is a huge problem, but when bred babies run between $1800-2500 for greenwings it happens. Hell, The only larger breed the Hycianth (sp) sells between $15000-25000 depeding on where your at due to the lack of numbers they now have.

They really are truly intelligent animals as well as being beautiful. The one I am training tells the dog to "go get it" when he sees him chasing his ball as well as an extensive vocabulary.

Hope to see them in the wild when I finally make it down there one day.
