I posted an update a couple weeks ago my painting the 28' Skipjack I bought last summer. After a long and exhaustive search, I ended up hiring a painter, Brad Maybury (aka "Scruffy"... just a little humor between the two of us) who's in the San Diego area.
I just received the boat back from San Diego following about 3 weeks work in prep, painting the hull, topsides and decks in Sterling LP "New Hatteras White" and matching non-skid, and new bottom paint in Proline black hard vinyl epoxy. Here are some pictures of the progress: before, during and the end result as of yesterday:
I've got to give kudos to Brad

, as he did this working with my very tight budgetary limitations and did not nickel & dime me to death when opportunities to do so occaisionally arose. He certainly did excellent work and I'm very pleased with the results. Should you need a glass guy / painter, you can reach Brad at (619) 794-2813 Office or (619) 572-3443 Cell.
Obviously I've got a lot of work still to do to get her ready, including putting all the hardware and new windows on, a new interior, major electrical and mostly new electronics... all before the season kicks in and without impacting my job / business responsibilities. I'll be working with others on the new windows (Mark Plastics) and upholstery (Jack Cole or Olivio), but the rest I'm expecting to do the work with some help and possible guidance from others in the know.
If you know anyone looking for something to do with a boat project, rather than just hanging around the house, I'm looking for occaisional helpers (I'm in Irvine)...
