Diesel vs. O/B

I'm working on a new 26ft V-Hull in both Center Console and a modified Walk Around Cuddy. Typical So Cal Offshore Special. I'd like to know your opinions on the merits and/or preferences of single Diesel vs. Single/Twin O/B. The idea is a hybrid offshore/utility fishing (more functional than Fountain with way better speed, handling and fuel effciency than Grady or Parker).

Diesel.

We did 100 miles today and burned under 25 gallons. That was in crappy conditions and we cruised quite a bit.
