The 23 Baja Bayrunner pilot house.

Went over to the Boat- Depot to pick up some parts and they had one of these on the lot… Boat, trailer and outboard for under $35,000… My cousin is thinking about it, what do you guys think? I myself liked the boat a lot…

considering the price of gas and up-keep, it's a nice boat, however it is a step down from your very nice 252 Wellcraft.

For $35K you can find a used boat a couple of years old fully outfitted.

Not a good time to buy new right now.

That looks pretty sweet. I used to have a Bayrunner 23 with a bracket and T-Top. That boat fished really well, but if the weather got any kind of chop going or mixed swells the ride was ROUGH! Depending on what he would use the boat for, it should be great! Maintenance is next to nothing, which is real cool. I loved that boat especially with the braket, tons of fishing room, easy to tow and good mileage.

I'm a bit biased since I own a 23 Bayrunner with a T-top. I called Klamath a couple of years ago and asked the guy if he would build me a pilot house, looks like he finally took the idea and ran with it. Smart. I bet the aluminum pilot house weighs no more than a solid T-top so I bet it's not very tippy at all.

FYI - my boat is super solid and rides like a dream. I've been out in some pretty rough weather and it slows me way down but for 95% of the fishing I do the boat is fantastic. Very low maintenance and very economical. Oh, and tons of room for the important stuff - like fishing!

That being said, I think it would look better if the side walls didn't extend all the way back. I can picture it with a long top that has legs to the deck at the back edge for support and a couple of rows of rocket launchers above a nice bait tank. You could hang curtains on the sides for rougher days and get the same protection. Just my opinion.

You fix your boat yet fooker? I still don’t see that thread.... I think Alloy rigs are going to be the boat of the future when gas hits $5 a gallon and stays $5 a gallon (unless you have an ass load of cash)… I don’t see them coming out with no hybrid outboard anytime soon…

Talking to the guys at the boat depot, they told me Yamaha is coming out with a 400 hp WTF!!! Anyway, Rob get off the computer and go fix your boat so we can fish on the 5th….
