Bob,

I bought the marine plywood at Dixiline. They're not cheap, but well worth it if its going in the most important area of your boat, the transom. The better option here would have been coosa, but that is way to expensive, the beauty of coosa is that it is very light and being composite, it wont root. Marine plywood, not regular plywood is the the poor's man best option.

Scott,

Having being there yourself you know how it is with the ideas, I don't know why, well actually I do know, but my best ideas come to me in the shower... figure that out... A lot of sketches, measuring, looking at pictures, looking at boats, etc.

Wow. That's all.

So in retrospect almost, knowing that you were just working with a bare hull, would you do it again?

Mine was not so in depth at all. I did a lot of looking and asking in my search. I did consider that it had to be solid before I even looked at it.

Would you start with a different platform, now? I mean you rebuilt the entire boat and it's not at all what you started with!

Watching your progress is waaaay cool!

I've got a 24' Skipjack as your next project. When can you start? It really doesn't need all that and I'd be a fool to do it but your work makes me want to too. Very nicely done. Maybe I'll go out and get a little fixer. Feeling motivated now.

Hey josh here are a couple pics of my before and afters I wish i would have taken some more pics throughout the project. Lots of roten wood replaced reglassed-two part foam was used under the deck and uner the rails-glassed in stringers(pic#4 to stifen the ride) then rhino lined the inside which also helped to stifen the ride also great vibration reduction-made the t-t0p with a product called aluminum speed rail its strong and theres no welding cheap way to do a t-top for low budget guys like me!

The last thing I want to do is glass in a kill box up on the bow....yellows dont fit in the cooler/bench seat very well. The bow is the only area left on this boat for a box....I'm thinking of taking a page from your book and buying a hatch then customizing the box using a fiberglassed template...any suggestions?
