Bryan,
Considering the weight I took off, I would say I put up 150-200 lbs max, its about the weight of a man on top of a tower. It looks heavy but it's not. For the structure for the pilothouse I'm only using 1/2" plywood. And after all is said and done I need to add weight foreward.
A friend of mine who has a skipjack 24 flybridge says it feels just like his flybridge, we did a sea-trial on my boat. It's definitely not a Center Console, but I wanted protection from the elements, and I'm a tall guy. It all depends on what you're after.
As far as hours on the project go, its a very "gray" area... not to say that I don't have a clue....

I don't have the counted total but considering I've worked on the boat since mid Dec-07 (trailer was done before this), and all the people I've had working on the boat at one time or another, it has to be a guestimation... I would probably say between 1200 and 1600 hours right up to sept 08, you have only seen the work thru Jan-17-08. Up to that point (jan 08) I would say maybe 120-150 hrs. Remember I don't do this for a living so it takes more time when you're trying to figure out things. I probably have invested about 500 hours on planning, sketches, looking at other boats, taking dimensions on my boat, buying materials, scratching my head, doing research on the web and a bunch of other things that are needed... I can say a lot of planning goes into something like this, and you've only seen the tip of the iceberg.
Hope this answers your questions.
I'll go now to prepare a bunch of pix for this evening update.
