Hey, what az monkey said is pretty much true, but there i such thing as reverse rotation engines, I have worked on them before.. They are kind of a thing of the past.. and usually used in inboard applications.. With a outdive it is 99% of the time a gearing difference in the drive its self. And yes that is a v/p 280 keep us posted.. Bryan

Unfortunately, you aren't going to find the numbers except in the documentation that you don't have. But in all likelyhood and just looking at the pic of the block (it looks like a standard config), it's not counter-rotating. As was previously mentioned the prop rotation can be changed in the outdrive itself, so I recommend buying a new marinized long block and building it up. A new marinized long block will run you about $2600-2800 shipped.

You have helped me on my boat......engines run in opposite direction.....one clockwise....the other counterclockwise....

Here's a little secret. Go to the link below and you've got yourself a shop manual for the outdrive.

Good luck, Eric

I just want to say "I told you so." up front.

This boat is a waste of time and money. Sell it, give it away or take it to the junk yard. You will waste lots of time and money and never get a return for it. Go out a buy a inexpensive "running" boat and go fishing!
