Had one go down the drain and stick and didn't notice it. Couldn't tell where the smell was coming from. Finally saw some dark stuff dripping from the outboard drain. Then noticed some maggots on the ground. Stuck a hose down my drain and cleaned it out. Putred smell.

When I was in high school me and a buddy went fishing off the jettys in Galveston. Got back to his house and I said he could keep my fish. I'm guessing a week later (not really sure how long) I was at his house when his dad yells at him to clean his shit up.
I offer to help and he points me to the ice chest. Thinking nothing of it I open that puppy up and WHAM I'm hit with the stench. Upon further investigation I see every fish we caught rotting in htere and maggots growing out of them.
I told him he could do it himself and went home.

Never done that one. Forgot to pull the dad mac's from the ice chest after a day of sharking. Found it 3 weeks later when we were prepping the boat to head on out. after some albacore. I was lucky since I was standing up wind. Now my dad and bro, well, they were down wind and I still crack up remembering the looks on their faces! It hit them like a brick wall!! My brother was dry heaving for awhile! |

My good buddy Sean (Kemosabe) left about 20 lbs of squid in my fish locker onetime. Took the boat out about a month later, I kept asking WTF is that smell walking next to the boat pre launch,as you were bathing in the odor coming out of the drain hole, but couldnt smell it from the topside of deck. Caught some fish later and opened up up the fish locker to stow them, instant pukefest, nastiest chit I (we) have ever puked to. Reminds me, I owe you one fucker.

Never done that one... but I'm pretty sure I know what it smells like.
Heres my stinking story:
Came home from patty hoping with some Yellow Fin Tuna and Dodos. I brought them home whole to show the kids. Fileted them up, thru the carcusses in a larger Rubermaid bin that I had sitting infront of my garage, had me a beer, some sashi then bagged the SO and passed out. Well I forgot about the carcusses in the bin for a couple of days and sitting infront of the house baking in the afternoon sun it started to stink. Not too bad so I was thinking "hey it's covered up" and the trash is coming in 3 more days so I'll just wait. Another 24 hour went by and my entire block smelled horrible, so at 6am I'm thinking there is no way this can sit here for 2 more days...no way! It was so bad that the ants had left and wanted nothing to do with it. So I pick it up and put it in the the trunk of my car. The trunk wouldn't close because the bin was too large. I start driving to the dump 5 or 6 miles from my house and having the trunk open it created a draft from the back of the car to the front of the worst smelling shit in the world. I was litterally suffocating while I choked on this shit even with all the windows open. Now I get to the dump and carefully remove this now hazardous material and throw it into the pile of trash and the lid poped off. The next few moments were priceless. EVERYONE DOWN WIND STOPPED IN THEIR TRACKS And LOOKED MY WAY and one by one they started covering their noses then their mouths then some started gagging and bending over to dry heave! I wanted to laugh but then I probably would have been burried right there. I know I made someone's life miserable that day and I'm so sorry but I had to get rid of the shit.
So it doesn't end right there... I leave the dump and notice my car stills smells alot, remember I was getting blasted by this shit for 6 miles. So I figured it would air out...NOT. My car stunk like what your bait tank stunk like for months!!! Apparently the smell had inbedded itself into the foam of the seats and the fabrics in the car.
LESSONED LEARNED!

I've done all kinds of stuiped shit, best was when I was 10 and the class went on a field trip to a beach, I found a clam and stuck it in my coat pocket. Next day the family goes camping for the long weekend and I then leave my coat in the closet in the trailer. Mom doesn't go to clean out the trailer for a couple days and notices a foul odor but can't locate it. Each day it gets consecutively worse until dad and mom are literally tearing the trailer apart looking for a "dead fuggin sumthin" (as dad called it). They finally located the week old dead clam and my dad rubbed some of the goo under my nose to "learn me"....I puked about 4 times one after the other as mom was yelling "John your gonnna kill him" aw the good times!!
