If you look at all of his photos you'll see the red tones are over saturated. Something is off with his camera. The bugs are mostly lit with the flash, which makes the over-saturation even more pronounced.

That having been said, I'd give my left nut to have a trip that great. OK, maybe not a nut. Some nut hair though, plenty of that.
