Self Intro and Santa Cruz ?

Hey guys, a friend told me about the site and I am excited to posting my 1st thread. I have been a fish rat my entire life and have tons of respect for all the knoledge on the board.

Question? I work for Cal Fire and worked a hard season thus far (Jesusita Fire). A buddy of mine from my crew is heading out to Santa Cruz Island next friday on his Dad's boat and has invited me and many other firefighters along. The problem is we have no idea where to go or what to use to catch fish out there? Any tips on spots, gps, tackle etc would be much appreciated.

Happy 4th

I would go straight to Rosa, fish the kelp, 30-60 ft.
Santa Cruz - Chinese harbor has been kickin out some fish - halibut & white sea bass
The cliffs in deep water on the front side can hold some fish at times.

Right on, I am a FAE down in San Diego but I live in Oxnard. Eric's is a great place for info or if you have some time jump on one of the great local boats to give you some more ideas. (Martuni or Aloha) good luck!!
