Channel Islands

I am fishing the channel islnad this week and it is my first time ever fishing up there. Dont know how to set up my rods any help please

I am not going out, small craft advisory. How to set up depends on what you are fishing. You're going to need heavy weight for sure in these seas. All you are going to catch is rock cod, halibut, or bass, maybe a ling cod. I think the bonitos are gone. The water will probably be cold. I would set up for bottom fish.

Double dropper loop with an 8 to 12 ounce torpedo weight on the bottom more if it is really rough or the current is high. A couple small squid strips on the hooks and you are golden this time of year. Berkley saltwater power baits work excellent also. Medium to small ones red and pink have worked well for me.
