I HOPE I GOT TO YOU, ENFUEGO. I DO NOT CHECK PM'S ANYWHERE NEAR AS OFTEN AS I CHECK MY REGULAR EMAIL, SO I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO GO THAT ROUTE, INSTEAD OF THE PM ONE.

AS FAR AS THE GRAVEDIGGERS ARE CONCERNED, WE HAVE DROPPED THEM, THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE CATALOG AND WE WILL NOT BE MAKING THEM. I BASED THE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS THAT I PUBLISHED ON SOMEONE ELSE'S INPUT - VERY UNUSUAL FOR ME, BUT ILLNESS KEPT ME FROM TESTING THEM PERSONALLY UNTIL I COULD FINALLY GET ON THE WATER - THE CHARACTERISTICS CLAIMED, ESPECIALLY THE SPEED ONES, TURNED OUT TO BE THINGS THAT WE COULD NOT COME CLOSE TO REPEATING ON THE WATER, AND WITH SOME OF THE VERY SAME LURES THAT HAD BEEN TESTED AND REPORTED ON BY THAT OTHER PERSON.

THIS IS ALL MY BAD AND I AM PAYING THE PRICE FOR WHAT I DID BY FESSING UP TO THE FACTS HERE, AND I WILL HAVE TO PRINT A RETRACTION IN A MAGAZINE ARTICLE THAT INCLUDED GRAVEDIGGERS. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT BEFORE. I OWN THE COPYRIGHT ON THE NAME, SO FOR NOW, THE GRAVEDIGGERS ARE GOING IN THE GRAVE AND IF ANYONE ELSE WANTS TO BRING THEM BACK UNDER ANOTHER NAME, BE SURE THAT THEY DO WHAT THAT PERSON SAYS THEY WILL DO BEFORE YOU BUY THEM.

WE MAY OR MAY NOT BE COMING OUT WITH A DOWNRIGGER/PLANER VERSION, BUT THAT IS UP IN THE AIR PENDING IN-DEPTH TESTING. STAY TUNED FOR THAT.

SORRY FOR THE BUM INFO...I HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO ENSURE THAT IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Capt. Fred,

As always, you give nothing but the honest truth as you know it. Thanks for the news that the Grave Diggers' lack of performance has them digging their own grave. Guess we'll have to find another way to get a lure deeper in the trolling pattern.

If I read your reply correctly, I hope there was a silver lining of sorts in the demise of the Grave Digger lure, and that is that your health was good enough to let you get out on the water to personally test it.

Take care,

Wow! I received the Lure Catalog and the Spreader Bar Catalog. Reading the catalog is like a college level course in fishing! I want 2 of EVERYTHING! My order in is the mail. Very nice job Fred.
