Seals have always been an issue. However...since they became protected they lost their natural fear of man. I used to work on the boats 27 years ago and they were around but not a problem. A few seal bombs kept them away from the boats. The sea lions would wait for us at the harbor mouth for scraps...but you didn't see them out with us fishing like you do now a days.

I want my kids beach back ( children's pool), TOOOOOOO many sea lions..........they are in OUR habitat Salty!!!!!!!!!!! we rule the world- we are HUMAN they are not...........take what ya need , be kind but hug a person not a tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree about the childrens pool. It was BUILT for the kids not the seals. However...those are harbor seals (I think) and they don't seem to bug me when fishing. It's the fucking SEA LIONS that are the offenders.

I used to work on a fishing boat catching live bait for the barges. Since I have developed a new hate. They have NO fear for man. They jump in the net and on deck. You can try to scare them away, but that just makes them more aggressive. Started to carry pepper spray.
