What is the major problem with giving them five bucks? That is less then the hourly minimum wage, less then a happy meal at McDonalds, less then two gallons of gas. Will it really be the same as taking it in the ass? Lighten up already. Even if the money is used for protecting the impending MPLA'a, what is the harm? The wardens are spaced out so thin now that poachers have pretty much free run everywhere. I do a dive every year in a reserve to look at the larger lobsters, then motor my inflatable up to the beach, also in a reserve, and lo and behold, no game warden to check me. I could poach all I want there if I wanted to, but don't out of respect for the resource. I also notice there are fewer and fewer bugs there anymore. If it helps catch one poacher in the process, I am all for it! So honestly, put it in perspective and lighten up already.
Oh yeah, I also let the fish counters look at my catch as well.
Flame away.

Flame away. | The problem is the money will never get to the DFG......Arnold will poach that money to try and balance his budget......I would pay $100 a year for a license if all the money was used for the DFG......

It looks good on paper. Would be nice if the money would be used for what it was intended. I don't know tho... Track record tells me different. Maybe if there was the proverbial "hat" at the counter I might pitch in. I would have about zero confidence that any DFG peeps would see a red cent the way it's set up. It's sad really.

Just got a good idea. "Maybe if there was the proverbial HAT at the counter..... Great idea. Send a check to DFG and attach a letter stating exactly why you are sending the money directly. Maybe the people at BD could put this together and send a check from "Bloody Decks!" That would be awesome. Then have Bloodyy Decks make there own stamp and pass them out to the people that donated DIRECTLY!!!! Man I'm smart!!! Poachers Quote:

I got even a better idea. Why don't the assholes collecting all the taxes/reveneu for the state stop dipping in the pot to satasify their own personal overhead and start using the money for what's it's designated for. We pay enough. It's the way it's allocated that's the problem.

you may recall, the State used lobster report card funds for the general fund. So buying a "friends of DFG wardens" stamp just funds the general fund not DFG.
Something pushed through as voluntary now that will be mandatory in a couple years. Pushed through, by no small coincidence, by anti fishing people.
Coast Keeper and surf rider pushed for MLPA closures which increased DFG costs without funding, They should help fund DFG.

i am highly skeptical of where my $$$ goes when it goes into the state's hands.
Anyone here have any OHV's? The only thing that our green/red sticker money does for us as offroaders is to make signs telling us where we CANNOT off road. I see fishing as a very similar fight, access to public areas.
dont trust the state of CA, nor the federal government to make a good decision with your money.
My dos pesos...

I could call in tips on poachers all day long, and I have. Nobody ever shows up. Pay an extra 5 bucks ? I don't think so.
