Reporting hazards to Coastguard

To the Forum Administrators,

Recently a fisherman reported to the United States Coast Guard, via our Public Affairs page, objects in the water that could be a potential hazard to navigation. We were able to locate the forums where it was discussed after a several minutes of searching.

Potential hazards such as this should be reported to the nearest Coast Guard station immediately via cell phone or VHF-FM Channel 16 upon locating it. Boaters should provide the following information when making these reports:

1. Position of potential hazard or objects (GPS and/or Geo Reference) 2. Description of the objects (length, width, how much is visible above water, number of objects, direction they are heading, color, type of material, etc) 3. Number of objects seen visually.

These are the basic questions we will ask for but each station may ask for additional info.

I would respectfully ask that you somehow make it known to your subscribers that it's nice to inform other boaters via the forums but the Coast Guard can't do anything about it if they don't report it to us. Any objects in the water that could potentially create a hazard to a boater's navigation whether it is a recreational or commercial vessel needs to report it immediately to the Coast Guard.

Makes sense.

I've called in a few times with stuff like timber and large debris. Once I called in a huge dead whale off of Malibu and a little while later the Zuma lifeguard came over to tow it back out to sea. I think they were pissed that we called it in though because they went out of there way to tow it up wind of where we were fishing and everybody on the boat pretty much went into gag mode

We hit a ''Square Grouper'' once . There wasn't anything left of it after that.
It did pull the shaft out of the cplg.

Last time I saw a website that sells Nike shoes and other brand shoes accidentally. I found the shoes in here are really cheap and the shoes look nice. After I bought them, I satisfied with the products. They look nice and in a good quality. Now I would like to share this website with you: http://www.shoes-trader.com
