Shimano Trevela Rod as live bait setup

Hi guys, i'm pretty new to fishing so i don't have a lot of gear yet. Im planning on going on my first overnighter in a few weeks. Since I don't have a lot of gear i was wondering can i just use my trevala rod MH as a live bait rod if i dont feel like jigging. This will be paired with my saltist 30. So i guess my question is would a trevala be a decent live bait rod? if not what are the draw backs?

Yes, it will work great! They bend a little more and closer to the handle that some other common bait rods but you will have all the power you need for that reel.

thanks for the input afry. i dont want to look like an idiot using a butterlfy rod for live bait. I guess as long as other people do it i feel fine.
