Does anyone fish tuna with braided line?

I'd say majority do. Anything from 3' to 30' top shots on top of the braided line is the norm. Top shot can be mono or florocarbon.

Every rod i use often has 5ft of topshot and straight braid down to the spool. Setting the hook on a fish that is 60 yards away with no stretch is pretty cool. It just seems like i have better control of the fish and i hardly ever pull the hook.

FWIW, I am still a mono guy. I do use spectra for backing on my big game reels, primarily to increase the line capacity. I am a believer in using fluorcarbon leader when fishing with bait.
