Tackle tips for Yellowtail and white C bass

Im new to the sport and this week end my neighboor is taking me on a 3/4 day trip and im just trying to get some tips on what to bring for as far as tackle, Any sugestions?

If they're going to have live squid for bait all you is some 3/0 hooks and some 1/4 - 1oz egg sinkers.

If Sardines, some 1/0 hooks and the same sinkers.

Reel avet Hx and seeker rod. no tackle at all not yet

Oscar, using an HX for 3/4 day trips is like using a GAU-16 to hunt ducks. You need a smaller 25-20# outfit not a reel designed for 50#. What rod is that you have?

these are combos i picked up for cheep at an auction avet jx with calstar bwcdh 6480c and avet mxl with a seeker bsc 670-7. picked them up for really cheep

Depending on the size of the bait, remember it takes a bit to swallow the bait so a good long 5 count will help before setting the hook if your
using mono. Don't rush it.
