Any expert here want to help out...

I got a new alternator and tach...still not charging and tach is not
doing anything...

I guess the old tach was okay afterall...the alternator was frozen.
Sergio is 2 weeks out...I need to go kill some fish! Anyone familiar
with a valeo type alternator?

If you're in SD there's a place off of Convoy Ct. cant remember the name right now(it's late) Pacific something ? They rebuilt my alt. for a fraction of what a new one would cost in 2 days. it's on Convoy Ct. on the east side of convoy

Had a similar problem. Turned out to be the main wiring harness. Pull both ends and check for corrosion.

Thank you for the feedback guys....Shawn, it did pull the main wire harness...it
was fine.

I check the owners manual, but there were not wiring diagram for the main harness.
Does anyone know where I can get a hold of one?

Dumb question...do you put a meter between positive and negative
poles? If so, what should it read? 14v since it's a 14v alternator?

It's a Volvo KAD43...I put a meter on
the battery and it doesn't change when the engine is running...12v.
Can you please detail how and I can load test an alternator?
