| Yamaha Diagnosic Software
I just ordered and Recieved my Yamaha Diagnostic Software package, It seems pretty cool. Gonna load it on my laptop, It can run diagnostic checks on most yamaha Outbards, and can give you trouble codes in your motors, and also clear codes, plus tell you the hours on the motors and all kinds of stuff. It comes with the interface cables and a big thick book. Its can kinda trouble shoot most problems..

Yep, That's (diagnostic software)what my E-Tec dealer used to tell me there was nothing wrong with my motor that would stall 4-6 times before I could keep it running in the morning. Just because you can hook one of these new high tech motors to a computer it still will not replace a real mechanic. What was wrong with my motor? Needed a new start battery. Found it out myself after replacing the battery for another issue.

and I agree the software can not replace a good mechanic... but it's a nice tool to have...

do not just rely on that
sometimes it will tell you something and it is wrong
factory manual with YDS is great
a certified tech is 10X better

It didnt have enough voltage first thing in the morning to pop the injectors. The computer is a nice tool. Especially when you are looking at a used boat. It will tell you all the stats on the motor and any hard faults in its history. No more claiming low hours on your rode hard outboard.

I have one use it to dignose my motor when I was rebuilding it. Make sure you have the manual too. Use it as a tool, but also do the manual checking of each component. I replaced sensors when they where still good. It will not dignose the ISC. It keep thing it was the air intake sensor instead. The ISC is $400 and the AI Sensor is $300 So there when another $700 bucks..
Also I notice that a lot of people with older f200 and f225 are having bad ISC at 800 hours..
