ROD RACKS FOR TRUCK BED

I recently moved my boat into a storage lot. I want to build a rod rack to carry rods in the bed of the truck. I am looking for some ideas on how to design and build the rack. I figured y'all will have some ideas.

thanks in advance

First question is how long is the bed? Second question is have you thought about a lockable tonneau cover? More secure.

If not get a nice rubber mat and a couple of bungees for front and back.
Keep the poles in and keep em from gettin scratched.

Re: ROD RACKS FOR TRUCK BED

The truck is a F250 with a 6 foot bed. I will need the rack to transport the rods between the house and the boat. I am thinking about doing some type of wooden a frame with a board in between the a frame and then put 5 rod holders on each side of the long board that sits between the a frames. I need something that can come out of the back of the truck. I probably not doing a good job of explaining it. Anybody tracking me?

Re: ROD RACKS FOR TRUCK BED

I thought about doing something similar for the same reasons.

My idea was a rocket launcher type system that would span from one bed pocket to the other.

The main tube would connect the bed pockets and have ends welded on that would drop into the pockets. Then have a row of launchers on either side. I would slant the rod holders to towards the front of the truck to keep the height low. The whole deal would mount in the rear bed stake pockets so you can load and unload the rods from the tailgate.

I have an avalanche it's not made to haul fishing rods . I was thinking rocket launchers attached to the hitch so it can be removed.
