| Another Question? 68 OMC 350 Motor & OD
Here's another 1 .
I've seemed to have gotten a Gremlin in my Old Boats ignition System . The old Girl always started like Clockwork . Not the Sunday before last though ! Had it running 2 different times for over a half Hour. Then it wouldn't start again . Been messing with it ever since . Damn !
The boat has a new rebiult 350 , OMC 225 OD with electronic Shift . A Mallory Distributor and ignition System . Parts are not easy to find .
Here's what I've done so far .
Changed : Points , Plugs , Condenser , Coil Resister .
Cleaned the Rotor , And Cap , still trying to find new ones .
Something seems to be grounding out because the resistor gets hot it seems . I've seen smoke from around it . Coil seems to be putting out not the best spark either . I've cleaned most conections I find . But I've got spliced in wires , extra wires , etc. Still tracking ......
The Celoc and Sylmars Manuals Book both mention a neutral ground switch for OMC Electronic Shift Models . But they don't rely identify it or show you how to adjust it if necessary .
Anyone familiar with OMC Electronic Shift Models with the Neutral CutOut Switch ??????????????????????? I hope someones got some knowledge about them .....
Thanks in advance
Michael
