On The Water Tunes

I really want to put a stereo system in my 21 CC. Figured I would mount it in the T-Top electronics box. Looking for recommendations on Brands or specific models. Don’t want to spend a fortune but want something that sounds good and will hold up to some water. Would like it to have a I-Pod input. Also any suggestions on speakers or placement would be awesome. Most likely would install it myself but may consider having it done if you know anyone good up here in the SB / <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Ventura</st1:City> / <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Oxnard</st1:place></st1:City> area.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o:p></o:p>
Thanks,

Re: On The Water Tunes

4 marine speakers in boxes hung from the T-Top. 2 facing forward and 2 facing aft.

Simple install, easy to do your self.
Make sure to get a stereo designed for marine use. The circuit board is covered in epoxy to help survive the salt environment.

Adding the SAT receiver, remote and Ipod plug before I hit the water this

Re: On The Water Tunes

I bought this set up at West Marine last week. $199 on sale for $139. The sale may have since ended. I didn't need the speakers as I already had 2 in the stern but have since realized I have room to mount these 2 up front. My stereo had quit so I just needed a replacement and got this cause it was on sale and had an IPOD jack. Works fine for the boat.

Here's the link for the west marine site.

Re: On The Water Tunes

Can you guys post pics of your setup? I've got an empty T-top mounted enclosure and would like to set something up there.

Re: On The Water Tunes

Try Boats US. I got a 200w Sony set up with speakers, waterproof mount and it's IPOD ready for $200.00. I mounted my stereo in the consloe away from electronics, and the speakers in the gunnels also away from my electronics and compass. Sounds great, and the speakers are waterproof.
