as far as I know, they're aren't too many outboard motors out there that have a lower unit "oil/seawater" mix when you run them.  The oil is in its own separate housing
Lower unit oil stays where it belongs when you remove the Lower unit. No need to drain it unless you want to add that in as an additional maintenance task.

Nice PermaTrim by the way. I was just out on the company boat Friday and was again amazed at the difference those things make. I love the one on my boat!

While the prop is off remove the thrust washer and check for fishing line on the prop shaft. That stuff will tear up the seal behind. Good tutorial. |
