If you were to drain the gearlube and happen to have water in it , theres that possibility the seal under the water pump hsg. could be it. then you would have to take the hole think apart again if you decieded to check your gear lube at a later date, like after the gear case sized up. Good advice to change the gear lube as some of the other members stated. All so you should put a small amount of moly lube on the drive shaft splines.

alright yes and no


gear lube out the intake screens = water pump, drive shaft seals

gear lube out the piss hole, vent hole, front of bullet = shift shaft seal

gear lube out prop = prop seal, 2 of them

water in case, the vent or drain screws need help

that is it, the rest is guess work
