it has been a while since we kept our boat there, but it was a pretty nice marina. if you cannot get a slip at marina village or the hyatt than it will do. the negatives are the ramp to get down to the docks is long and can be very steep at low tide and at the time, they were all double slips. if you need a slip right away get one there and put your name on the waiting list at marina village.

We're at SeaWorld currently. Been there about 6 weeks. So far so good. It's all double slips as someone mentioned about but that doesn't really bother me at all.
The marina is shallow however and your either going to need regular hull cleaning or one of the pvc/tarp things to keep the bottom clean. The majority of the slips have the pvc/tarp deal. we're thinking of making one... looks pretty straightforward but costs $3K or so to buy.
There's usually space at sea world as it's the farthest back from the bay entrance. It looks like it's filling up as summer gets closer.
Overall we're happy but would move to a better location if a slip comes up. good think about sea world is it's only a month to month deal. No committment required.

Friend of mine had a slip there for years and loved it. He sold the boat and lost the slip.

I was in there for about 6 months a few years ago and couldn't wait to get out....the ramp, even at high tide is murder...at low tide it's nearly impossible to get anything heavy up or down to the boat...I'm not a youngster so perhaps that doesn't make any difference to someone that ain't my age...if you can possibly swing Marina Village look it over and try to get in there...I had one of the original slips there back in the 70's and have had boats there off and on for years...the folks are great, good security, clean, single slips, etc...I don't know your length needs...30's and up are tough but they are around...just my opinion.

Great info for those of us that travel. So what's the down side of launching at Shelter Island and parking it for a single trip? Ramp looks clean and nice grade for pulling out a heavy boat. (26ft Sea Ray Cuddy W/BBC).
Locals know their shit here!

DG | Hate to disappoint you, but they are talking about the "walk Ramp to the boat slip" not a "launch Ramp for the boat".. |

I'm on 'A' dock. Blow boats and not many boats that ever leave. But I like my spot.

It's still about boats so It's all good, right?
Thanks for the clarification.
