Cross country boat transport?

Can anyone recommend a good company to bring a boat out from the East Coast, specifically N. Carolina?

Re: Cross country boat transport?

How big, Tim? Is it trailerable? I just brought mine the other direction by myself because the quotes were pretty high. I have a trailerable 23' walkaround. Cost me $1200 in gas, $250 in trailer tires and about 63 hours, San Diego to Maine. I got a bunch of quotes on Ship Furniture, Ship Cars, Freight Shipping & Household Moving – uShip. It was about $3500 for a tractor trailer to show up & put the whole thing (traielr & all) on its trailer and deliver it. Also got many quotes from guys with 1 ton trucks that tow boats back & forth. Most of their quotes came in at about $2500. Good luck.

The boat is 22' long, about 25' overall with pulpit and swim platform. I estimate about $2500.00 for a professional company to do it, but I may have worked out a deal with Mom & Dad. They have a Chevy 2500 Diesel and are willing to drive back and pick it up, and I will cover all expenses. I estimate about $1500.00 in fuel and hotel, and even if it goes higher I would rather pay for them to get away for a week as long as they are up for it.

I need to work out the final details and arrange for a marine survey. Should know more in the next day or two.

The boat I was looking at sold, but thanks for all the info. Hopefully I will find another one soon.
