I use Harry's marine in OC. If you give him a call he may have some suggestions for you.

Re: volvo tilt motor removal

If it's the electric tilt motor, it's just held on with 2 screws, pulls right out.

Harry is top notch in my books. Man is full of knowledge and just one hell of a guy to boot. Tell him that Curtis said hey if you see or talk to him.

That aint all he's full of! Get him in a conversation and just sit back and listen. He is deff a wealth of information. I took my boat to him for a baseline service since we bought it used last may and didnt really know what the prior owner had serviced or when. I got back 3 boxes of parts that were replaced and a boat that now runs like a top. He is VERY good on volvo diesels.

trim/tilt

Mine was bent ....(had to pull the sterndrive to replace all the bushings)... and hammer it out then .......but try using a long rod and a big hammer...watch your thumbs, mine turned purple. Hope it works for u...... I had to use every curse word in the dictionary. P.S. Leave the steering fork bushings for the PROs

the best way is to tap it with a rubber malot untill all the excess salt or whatever it is that you have there falls off and then you have to get it lubricated.. something like Wd40 or something, affter that you ahve to pry it out little by little.. but it depends on how bad it is you might even have to heat it up.. so be carefull.. were you able to pull the bols out?
