Volvo penta 5.0 I/O composite drive

I just came back from the Volvo penta shop in Point Loma.. My main problem is the fork that supports the outdrive has two bilateral stress cracks. Due to trailering without an outdrive support strap. I trailer it less than five miles to launch. Does anyone know if this type of COMPOSITE/Black color fork can be fixed by welding it or another 3K needs to spent replacing it.

Thanks
