Dinghy motor help

I have a 6hp 4 stroke Mercury O/b on my dinghy (sounds painful I know). The motor runs great at speed but won't idle. I changed gas, gas filter, spark plug but problem remains. I suspect carb has water in it or is gunked up. Any one have experience that can make reccommendations to fix??

Just fixed the same problem with my yammy 90 - idle jets had some stuff in them - easy fix - remove the carb, take off fuel bowl, remove BOTH the main & idle jets AND the air/idle screw on the outside of the carb - note the position (how many turns - mine were 1.5), blow out with carb cleaner and then with compressed air and reassemble.
