Re: All New Perko Underwater lights!!!!!!!

Looks like a quality light to me. Brass, sealed light, good wiring, brass nut. What am I missing? Boat lights aren't for everyone.

Thanks for the info.

Easy man. I'm not trying to give you a bunch of shit. It's all good you're trying to pass on some good deals. That's what this community is all about. I was just stating some 411. And yes, I've had every high dollar light on the market in my hands. Why, because I designed a bunch of them. What bugs me about this light is the two piece front section. Look at the back of the flange, lots of bolts. I bet they even used stainless steel hardware so crevis corrosion will be a nice problem Nothing better than having no warning before a stainless steel part fails. You've got to love it! Alright, I've stirred enough shit for one day.

Re: All New Perko Underwater lights!!!!!!!

I didn't notice the 2part construction when I first read this thread. That would become and prob. If the machine screws were changed to brass, that would help the electrolisis. But what about the water intrution? What is the maintance for these type lights?

If something goes wrong, you're going to have one hell of a large hole in your hull. Plus, if you want a lot of light that draws very little juice off the batteries, it's all about HID's. they last longer, way more effifcient (=less heat & more light), and stand up to vibration (no filiment).
What does HID stand for? Hi Intensity display or what. I know what an LED is but never heard of a HID.

Thanks
