Boat wash

I have a 16 ft skiff with a 2 stroke and I have to rinse out my engine when I get back from fishiing obviously..I just moved to a townhouse and the association and neighbors do not appreciate the beautiful sound of my engine...anyone know if any of the launch ramps have a place I can hook up a hose and rinse out my engine....I mainly launch from dana landing this time of year...but I live by USD so any ramp is not really out of the way...Thanks..TRavis

Re: Boat wash

Travis if you have a pick up truck you might want to get a 35 gal. or larger plastic drum and a good 12 volt pump and hook it up. You can flush the engines and rinse the trailer at the parking lot. I use the trailer light hook up to get the 12 Volts to the pump works good and I flush the brakes the same way.
Good Luck

Re: Boat wash

the boat wash i use on clairemont drive has a wash out for engines. it is on the corner of clairemont drive and denver street right next to one of those Quikie oil change places. you need to bring a length of hose to use their flush out.

costs me on average $5 in quarters to wash my boat(timed wash), but might be more for you depending on how long you choose the flush the engine.

Re: Boat wash

Oceanside ramp does not, repeat does not, have hook ups for flushing. So I wouldn't go there. Besides, there are no fish out of O'side.

I don't understand what you're talking about!?!?!?

Oceanside has free hook-ups for flushing your motor, free sponges, soap and other equipment to wash down your boat, and an awesome launch ramp with tons of space to park.

Not to mention that some of the best costal fishing is right around Oceanside!

A person would have to be out of their mind not to pick Oceanside as their #1 spot to launch...

Re: Boat wash

hey travis you can also check out a "flush muffler" that they sell at overtons. its supposed to give you back pressure while your flushing the outboard and also supposedly silences the noice. i was also thinking about getting it but i think it could work for your situation.
