There's a 25 Skipjack at Seaforth boat sales right now with a 454 and thru hull (transom) exhaust if you want to go check it out.

I'm considering that one or a Diesel 25 FB in Huntington Beach.

Re: Skipjack MPG info needed

AD41 200hp diesel, duoprop, power trim...

3.1/3.2 nmpg anywhere from 18-23kts. Load and speed doesn't seem to make any difference.

Re: Skipjack MPG info needed

mine with the Volvo 260 duoprop - chevy 350 runs at 1.5-1.8 nmpg. Over 3200k the 4-barrel kicks in and probably drops to 1.2-1.3 nmpg but we get there quicker!

Re: Skipjack MPG info needed

not a 25' but...

24' flybridge -VP 280DP and a new marine power engine 5.7L non-EFI (w/ carb). with 150 gallons of fuel, 4 guys, ice and gear = 1.8-2.1 nmpg depending on ocean conditions. in decent seas we run at 22 knots at 9.5-10 gph. when its rough enough to slow us down to 16 nmph at 8-9 gph. very happy with the MP engine and its simple and realitively cheap to service since its really just a 350. 300 nm range is plenty for me and it will be years until we burn enough gas to add up to the difference in cost of a diesel repower.

Re: Skipjack MPG info needed

Have a 25' skipjack with tower. Yanmar 240hp diesel and VP duoprop. I get 2.25 minimum (Snotty seas and loaded heavy). Usually average about 2.8 mpg. Best mpg is running 23-26 knots where I get a tad over 3mpg's. I am sure that without the tower and its extra weight and wind resistance the numbers would be better.. JD
