| King Starboard-AS needed
I"m not gonna make it to see my 40th birthday because everything is just pissing me off lately.
I need a full sheet of 3/4 inch King Starboard-AS in the light grey color....the local plastic places are unable to get this product in for about six weeks...I don't have six weeks to sit on my ass and wait for this shit to come in. Does anybody know of a place in the US, Canada, Mexico, Russia or anywhere that might have a sheet of this expensive crap in stock?

This post may be confusing to most who are familuar with Starboard/Seaboard/Seafoam or whatever you wish to call it, as the stuff we are in need of is with a nonskid diamond pattern and not the plain smooth surface stuff.
I dunno Chuck, and I know this is not what you want to hear, but I would probably suck it up and wait the 5 weeks or so for the product, as you have come to far in this project in both time and money to do it any other way thats half ass.
What we can do is make the boat functionable right now by doing it kinda Mickey Mouse, and then when the stuff comes in we can replace as needed.
It's just the way the ball bounces sometimes brotha, dont let it get the best of you, it will all work out killer in the end with a little patience.

Why not just make your pieces out of the regular shit and have someone router traction grooves in it?

Update.....well, basically I'm fucked. I called King Starboard (the people who make this stuff) and they said that they haven't made this product since January of 2005 and that they would need a large order to do a custom run. One sheet of what I need does not connotate an order of this size. They also said that the folks who quoted me 5 weeks delivery on this product were full of codcod crap as they have no intention to do a custom run of this product anytime in the near or distant future, not withstanding someone else ordering several sheets of the material.
Sooooo, I have to improvise. I was told by King Starboard that this material does not like being glued all that well (there is a single product that works so-so, but it's not recomended)....My throughts now are to buy an extra sheet of the available 1/2 inch stuff and laminate it to a sheet of 1/4 inch starboard with 5200......then I was thinking of screwing it together from the back every four inches with stainless screws. I know this material holds together well with screws, and I cannot imagine this not working, but I"m just a stupid Pollock and I don't know shit about anything anymore.
Anybody got any input regarding my "screw the shit together" plan??? The large piece I will be using (about 42'' by 30'' or so) will be used to replace a floor section and it will be screwed to the floor stringers. The other piece I need will be a hatch cover of about 3' X 3' in diameter (more or less). Again, if I screw this crap together every four inches, I cannot imagine it pulling apart or losing any strength...In fact, it's well known that laminated pieces of 'stuff' are stronger than pieces of 'stuff' of uniform composition......
All comments, insults and suggestions will be appreciated....

Ok guys, here is the problem, the stuff we need is a textured surface and NOT your normal smooth surface starboard. What we are trying to get is a very small diamond pattern (1st choice) or a very small dot pattern (2nd choice in 3/4" light grey (the color is very important)
Keep the suggestions comming as well as links if anybody finds something like this, but as it looks right now we are going to have to probably make do and piece together a 1/2 inch piece to a 1/4 inch piece which is not really what either of us had wanted to do, but it looks as if it will have to do.

Thanks for everybody's help......for better or worse this is how it's gonna happen....
Like Mike mentioned above, I'm gonna splice together with stainless screws a piece of the available 1/2 inch diamond textured starboard to a sheet of non-textured starboard to get the proper thickness I need for my floor section and hatch covers. Now that I think about it, this might actually not look that bad as I"m going to back the hatch covers with black starboard---will only be seen when the hatch is open (fish going in or fish going out).......
Regarding the floor section, one will never know that the textured starboard is backed with anything because it will not be visible.
This should work out ok, me thinks.
