autopilot info

I'm looking for feedback on autopilots. I'm going to install one in my 29' Blackfin w/diesels. I want a simple one that won't break my bank.
Any comments would be helpful.
Thanks, George

Re: autopilot info

If you can find one. I agree for the size boat. Easy install.

Re: autopilot info

I'm pretty happy with my AP14. The remote is very cool and allows the person in the tower to steer the boat.

It is the only one I've owned so I can't compare it to others.

It porbab;y belongs on a boat of 25' or less or one without a lot of superstructure to catch the wind. If you have hydraulic steering try one of the smart pilots. I just installed a series one with the steering dial for 1290 from Anchorexpress.com, including shipping to Hawaii.
If you have mechanical steering, I think you are left with the sport pilot. I have one for sale......cheap.
