Re: Flatline boom

No expert, but seems to me it would be easier to install a clamp on style rod holder at an outward/upward angle, if you have a bit of railing towards the back on your boat.

Re: Flatline boom

Hi Kru I made my own and used them last season they worked great, I bought 2 Aftco roller troller clips and attached them to 2 3/4"round dowells about 4 feet long and clip them on to our boats stern railing, they hang out about 2 1/2 feet on each side , makes clipping your trolling line into roller troller easy, keeps it down low, and gets the feather out of the white water nicely, i got 5 or 6 hookups out of them last year , and thats saying alot considering last years conditions.

I use them along with the outriggers and a middle stinger !! 5 lines out and no tangles. Hope this helps oh BTW i think all of it $$ to build was $60:00 including the 2 Roller Trollers . Bob......................

Re: Flatline boom

Looks to me like they might get in the way while fighting fish- I guess you could move them after each hookup-sounds like a pain in the ass.Just my 2cnts.
