Are you going to hardwire or use alligator clips. The "truecharge" series are real nice for hardwired while the "Guest" models are less expensive and even though they may mount inside the boat they are more or less like a standard battery charger.

The truecharge 40 amp charger is a three bank charger. It is very easy to install and IMHO a very good smart charger. It will run you around 400 bucks though.

How about any recommendations for a cheap hardwired batt charger for 2 batts?

Truecharge does have a two bank I think 10 amp charger. Not sure on the price.
The Guest model may be more of what you are looking for. You can cut alligator clips and hardwire it.
