| Aux Switches on my dash ????
I have a panel of switches on my dash, helm , I have four or five non used switches on my panel, on the back all the wires are the same color, I think thick orange, how do I know where to put the wires if I want to add a light or something that will work off one of those rocker ( think that is what they are called) switches ? gunz

Usually you only run the hot wire through the switch. And run the negative wire to the ground bar.

Any available switch should have a open connection on the back side of the switch. Im guesing it will be covered for corrosion protection. My suggestion is to find out the brand of switch or switch panel you have and do some research on the web. Below is a Blue Sea switch panel for reference. |

The boat is in Marina Del Rey !, I looked closer and there is one place to connect a wire connector, I assume that is the place to connect the hot lead and connect the neg to the power strip I installed when I installed the electronic, I have one for Pos and One for Neg !!

The open connection will run to pos side or electronic, and yea the neg will go to the neg side of fuse block / power strip / etc.

Except, check one thing: There will be two wires and one unused blade terminal if these are lighted switches - one wire runs to the accessory buss that is powered up when you turn your ignition key on (the smaller yellow wire in Silver Bullet I's post) and one that goes to the fuse panel. Just make sure that the fuse feeding this wire is the right amperage (i.e.: not too high) for whatever it is you want to power. If it is not fused, you will have to install an in-line fuse. Hope that makes sense.
