Johnson Outboard - Mobile Mechanic & Craigslist?

I went to go out to LJ Fishing this morning. I could not get the outboard to go over 3200 rpms. While I was in Mission Bay, I took off the OB cowling and noticed the port side of the engine/power heads were cool to the touch.

Two weeks ago, the engine was running great hitting 5500-6000 rpms and the boat got up to about 40 mph. About a month ago, I just put in a brand new water/fuel separating fuel filter too.

Anyone know of a good Johnson Outboard Mobile mechanic? I want them to fix this problem, check timing & tune the engine (timing sounds off & engine idles very high-1500rpm). I did not seen any recent refferals when I did a bloodydecks message search.

I have seen several people advertise of Craig's list, but I am nervous about hiring someone without references or a known reputation.

Outboard motor class starting at the end of March in chula Vista at South Western College. It is a ROP class, no cost if you do not care about credits. If interested call the ROP office to inquire. If I get many responses I can give more info. There are 3 enrollments, Begin, Intermed, or Advanced. Everyone starts at the Beginers class and move up.
