Battery question

I was trying to loosen the wing nut on one of my batteries and the whole post ended up turning also. Now I can't get the wing nut off and it won't tighten down either so the cable is loose. Never seen this happen before. Is the battery toast and just hacksaw off the terminal or what?gunz

Re: Battery question

Good chance the battery is still ok. The studs portion can loosen but the main larger size terminal is still intact with the battery cells. You would have to change your battery cable end to an automotive style.

But it is usually a sign that the battery is on it's way out.

Have the battery tested at one of those auto parts stores.

Re: Battery question

Next time, too late now.

Use either Anti Seize or Tef-Gel on the threads no more problems, as long as it's not cross threaded.
