Okay you guys were right!

My 25hp Yamaha is seems too heavy for my 14ft Valco aluminum boat. I put it in the water for the first time today for a seatrial and to break in the new motor. I couldn't even get past a 1/4 throttle before the bow went straight into the air and the engine dropped into the water.

Any input on how to fix this?????

Here is a picture of the boat.

and the engine.....

Re: Okay you guys were right!

That engine weighs #200. Your ass and the gas another #300. Move the tank? 4-stroke engines are heavy. Sell the engine and get a 9HP? Sorry to hear about your problem.

Re: Okay you guys were right!

Better than Doel-fins, try prematrim.

You can contact John Jensen on the board he is a dealer for them.

More costly, but made from aluminum, very sturdy much more surface area than a Doel-fin.
