Engines smoking...

Just bought my 31' North Coast Express with twin Cummins 250's. Everything was fine with the survey and sea trial, and I fished the 181-182 on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend... again, all was perfect with the engines (temps/pressures/etc).

I started the engines up yesterday and they were smoking quite a bit (blue smoke)... Any ideas why they would suddenly be smoking and should I be concerned??

Oh.. engines have about 1500 total hours each, and about 200 or so since last service...

Also, how many hours between oil changes/etc on these engines??

Thanks in advance for any info anybody can give me, I'm new to diesels and such.

Joe

Re: Engines smoking...

Cold diesel engine = smoke.120/150 hours - oil change.
