My 28' Skippy weighs 6600 lbs. (dry weight). You can find the weight of yours on the net.

I have found that the NADA site is very helpful for stuff like this....

http://www.nadaguides.com/Values/Val...wPr=0&wPg=1027

Go through the alphabetical list to your boat and there should be dry weight info there.

For an exact weight go to the dump. I think the North County cite will help you out. If not the San Diego dump off the 52 and Convoy will weigh you. I guess you have to know the weight of truck and trailor first. You can find the weight online but with add ons and time boats will get much heavier. Good luck!

There is a public scale at the EDCO recycling yard off Federal Bl in Lemon Grove.
don't know if they charge a fee or not though.

Highway scales can be assholes at times.
Any plant that sells rock products, asphalt and such usally has a scale too.

Here's how I got mine figured out:

Boat - 5000# + 300# for the diesel over gasser = 5300#
Trailer = 1500#
Raidar arch, bait tank, accessories etc = 500# max
Fuel = 100gals x 7#/gal = 700#
Gear when loaded to go out fishing = 500# max

Total rig, loaded with fuel and gear: 8000 to 8500 lbs.

You may be a little heavier with a 25, so figure 8,500 to 9,000 lbs. Depends how much crap you have on there.

Hope it helps....
