Marks on gelcoat

I bumped up against the bait barge in SD and have some of those tire marks on the side of my gel coat. Does anyone have a way to get those marks out ? I tried magic eraser and it does'nt work . Thanks in advance !

Try Acetone and then re-wax.

If that doesn't get it, try polishing compound.

Comet or Ajax does it for me everytime... But it also kills the wax.

Black streak remover

There is some stuff called just "Black streak remover" that we used to use on our old Bertram. That stuff was bad ass. I dont know who makes it but I think you can find it at West Marine.

Stay away from solvents ie acetone. It is too agressive and can harm the gelcoat. Use SoftScrub from the supermarket.
