If its running rough get it to a pro. If it is running fine change the plugs and fuel filter. Drain and refill the lower unit. Remove prop and check prop shaft for accumulated crud. Clean and grease up prop shaft and re-install prop. Drop the lower unit and change the impeller. After every trip flush motor with fresh water after use in salt water. While flushing, disconnect fuel line and run motor until it quits running (don't forget to turn off ingnition key after it stops running). This clears the carbs and fuel lines of fuel and keeps everything from gumming up between trips. Take off cowling and spray and wipe down power head with fine mist of fresh water and lots of WD 40 type stuff. Grease up all the linkage you see in there and grease up all zerks you see on the exterior and you'll be good to go. Tohatsu makes a tough, dependable motor, but I have a Mercury. And root for the Angels!
