Shurflow bait tank pump

Two part question:

Part one: My bait pump (shurflow pro baitmaster) isnt working. No sound coming from pump when it is turned on. I checked for voltage at the pump. Is there any thing else to check before buying a new one?

Part two: Is there a less expensive pump that will perform similarily? These pumps are very expensive for only lasting a year. This is our second one in two years.

It is transom mounted with the supply coming from the bottom of the boat in the bilge. The tank is about 12" x 40" and 15" deep.

Thx.

Check the sticker on it for the manufacturer date. Some of those pumps have a 3 year warranty.

You might be able to send it back to the factory for a new one.

I usually burn one up about once a year.

I'm pretty fortunate, I have the same washdown and bait pumps that came with my boat when I boat it, that was six years ago. My washdown pump acts up every so often but usually starts pumping after few minutes. Bait pump always kicks right up, about the only issue is airlock but that usually goes away once I get the boat moving.

Thanks, I'll check the label. Any trouble shooting tips?

Have you checked for junk in the impellor? Personally I got REALLY tired of swapping out 1100 "ShurFlos" even under warranty and went with a Rule pump.
