Question Grady White 248

I just purchased a Grady 248 voyager, a considerable upgrade to my current 19' c.c. My old boat the ride was pretty rough if seas were over 3'. I'm curious to find out what size seas could be considered comfortable in my new boat. Any thoughts?

Dont focus on size,,,focus on frequency of the waves...6ft at 20 seconds, is not a problem... 3-4 ft at 10 seconds, its getting choppy...

even then, when it gets rough, regardless of the size of the boat, finding the fish gets alot more difficult...so I stay home.

Your boat should be a nice dry ride. Cuts the ocean well. You should be very happy with it.

I used to have a 248 and I can tell you it is an exceptional riding boat. Definitely one of the best boats in it's class.

Great choice.

I am willing to bet that your old 19' CC is a lot lighter and a shallower V with less deadrise that the Grady. I am sure it will be night an day. I agree with Bryan focus on the intervals more than the wave height. I doubt that that Grady will have too many problems in So Cal waters provided you use common sense.

** just noticed that you are in Maine and not So Cal. In that case I would dump that boat right away! They are horrible on east coast waters, and the resale of those Gradys completely suck on the east coast. Me being a nice guy I will take your boat off your hands at let say .10 on the dollar? I'll even meet you have way for pick up.

No really congrats on a great boat!
