Starting issues Mercury 250 EFI

This motor has been great and starts every time, runs hard every time. I run her probably 3 or 4 days a week. Recently, she started, ran about 2 minutes and then died. She wouldn't start again. I think that she just ran on the rest of the gas/oil remaining in the motor from the previous run. I don't think it is the battery because the kicker starts and runs off the same. I don't think it is the starter because it you can hear it trying very hard to turn over. I don't think it is the oil injection because you can see it on the water and in the reservoir etc. I think it is the fuel pump or that it needs a fuel filter replacement. Any one have any insight or advice? Much appreciated.

your on the right track but you need to test /examine a bit more for a good answer.
spray a tiny bit of carb cleaner or starting fluid in the intake (not too much start fluid as it can posibly damage reed valves ) and see if she kicks a bit, that would indicate you could have a a fuel delivery issue such as a pump or filter, also make sure squeeze bulb is not collapsed, use it to try and boost the fuel system to see if that helps, is there fuel in the tank , are the plugs dry , is there any choke mechanism, are all wires to key good and are all connections tight and dry?
if fuel doesnt fire her, is spark pressent? etc,. do a bit more and then some of the guys here will likely help you if its a common problem or direct you to a good tech if its an oddball.

Thanks Barry,

I plan on checking her out again on Wednesday and if I don't get her figured out will post with more results of the tests I run. Thanks for the insight.
