I heard the Defiance is going Bankrupt. So don't bank on that lifetime warranty idea. Shamrock is also on there way out. As far as fit and finish BAMF is the best I've seen. Everything is glassed together. Take a look at fuel capacity, fish hold capacity, water and storage. These guys got it figured out. The new model 25 is going to have a 200 gallon tank, 2-50 gallon fish holds. I am so please with my 29 The fish boxes hold ice for days, the engine compartment is clean wires are neat and everything is solid. If you haven't rode in one you'd be amazed If had Ospreys, Sea sports and be on Parker's and have friends that own them. I pass them every morning going fishing with there twin 200's and 150's.

Mike, Spamming and pretending you are a customer when you own the company is one thing. But spreading rumors and lies about a competitor at the same time is even worse.
Defiance is not going anywhere. Quote: |
Im in the market for a trailerable boat in the 22'-26' range. I got it narrowed down to 3 brands, Defiance, Parker and Steiger craft. Any opinions on these brands? Any reason why you would choose one over the other? Looking at the enclosed pilot house models with outboard on an off shore bracket...
| fuenstock,
As the GM of Defiance I will tell you that all three brands you are considering are very well built boats. Al Steiger is a great boat builder as is Parker. I take a look at the designs, ie. layout etc and decide which one is the best for you. I obviously think that the boats we build are some of the best around. But you are considering some very fine boats.

Mike | You "heard" Defiance is going BK?!!! From who?...The tooth fairy???!!! Dude...Throwing out junk like that is just plain irresponsable and ignorant. What if I posted that I "heard" BAMF is going out of business???....Really?...I Heard it from the Easter Bunny!!! Mike, I am the largest Defiance dealer in the country....I work very closely with the Investors and family who own Defiance....I Know the family personally....and I can testify that the company is NOT going out of business!....In fact, they are a virtually debt-free boat builder with a lot better shot of hanging in there than many of the other so-called "big-names"! Rumor is, that you are one of the owners of BAMF, or at least have a financial interest in promoting the boats....If so, say so! Stop flying under the radar as a happy consumer with an un-biased report. I'm sure your boats are cool....alot of boats are cool....Lets hope EVERY boat manufacturer stays around....It is better for pricing, quality control, innovation and selection......We have lost too many already. Good luck with your BAMF boats, and to you personally......but please.....no more un-informed bloviating and ignorant rumors. |

If I was looking at a Pilot House, thats would be high on my list.

Interesting,
Somehow Mike Keating has more customers than boats that he has built.
I actually think the boats are really nice. Whether you are or are not Mike Keating doesn't matter. It is still spamming. I really don't care until you start spreading rumors because you read them on another board, they must be true.

sorry, not to hijack all the boat builder drama but,
I looked a difiance boats, they are sweet boats for sure, the only problem I have is:
How the hell do you fish with that ginormous protruding bracket and outboards sticking out the back?
I would like to hear all the stories of guys loosing there fish at the boat from hitting a prop, or skeg.
I don't get it, if the bracket makes the boat ride better, then why not make the boat bigger and eliminate that ridiculous bracket?
